WHY MAKE THE SWITCH

MORE COMFORT. LESS OIL.

A heat pump heats in winter and cools in summer. For many oil-heated homes, it is a practical step toward steadier comfort and less exposure to oil deliveries.

ONE SYSTEM, TWO SEASONS

Heating and cooling in a single electric system, sized for your house.

02

LESS TO MANAGE

No more tracking tank levels or arranging oil deliveries.

A REAL PATH TO SAVINGS

The City reports ↗ households switching from oil typically save more than 50% on heating bills, or approximately $1,100 a year. This is not a guarantee; your results depend on your home, usage and rates.

01 / FIND YOUR PATH

Check the rebate. Then make a plan.

Two quick answers for a starting point, not an eligibility decision. No email needed.

Get matched with an approved installer

The City’s rebate form requires an existing Seattle home (1–4 units or townhouse) with a working oil furnace as its primary heat source, qualifying Mitsubishi Electric equipment and a participating contractor. The City of Seattle sets final eligibility. We are not affiliated with the City. Check current City rules ↗

DON'T FORGET THE TANK

THE OLD TANK NEEDS A PLAN.

A heat pump replaces the heating job. It does not automatically close out a buried or basement oil tank. Know what is included, who handles the tank, and which records you will keep.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK.

Read all FAQs ↗
Is Ditch Oil Heat an installer?

No. We are an independent referral service. We match homeowners with licensed, rebate-approved installers and may receive a referral fee if you connect.

Can I get a Seattle rebate if I live outside Seattle?

No. The Seattle city rebate applies to qualifying homes within city limits. Your utility may have a separate program; verify eligibility by address.

Do I have to remove my oil tank?

A heat-pump installation and oil-tank decommissioning are separate scopes. Ask a qualified tank professional about the required plan for your tank.

Will a heat pump work when it is cold?

Modern heat pumps can heat in cold weather. Proper sizing, layout, and system choice matter for comfort in your particular home.
